Aside from believing that the Internet should become a safer community (hence the concept behind Family Domains ... read first entry below), my family and I have also been a fan of handmade gifts, toys, etc. There is just something extra special about receiving something that's been made by human touch. With this is mind, please check out ALPHACRAFTS at www.alphacrafts.com which is a site dedicated to all things handmade.

I'm really impressed with the amount of positive feedback I've been getting regarding this site. My inbox is full of support from folks saying they approve of my "safe internet community" concept. Just have to work on converting the "well-wishers" to "clients" :)

Come on guys ... let's support this project!

Currently working on a project with Google to offer a certain dollar value of Google Ad Words to businesses that sign up with our hosting plan. If this interests you, just let me know.

Family Domains is a pet project that I've been planning for quite some time. I've been building websites for many clients over the years, always using a variety of Internet hosting plans. Sometimes I go for cheap ones, sometimes I go for the fully-loaded expensive ones, all depending on what type of website my clients needed. However, one thing that's been nagging at me through the years was the search for a web host that provided an easy-to-use interface tailored to the average bloke operating a small family business. Many of the hosts I found allowed you to set-up your own website online -- all without any human interaction -- but the process of signing up was pretty complicated.

I built Family Domains because I wanted to merge the online world with some good old-fashion human contact. Initially, it sounds like it contradicts itself, but trust me ... it actually makes sense. My sign-up page is pretty simple. It just asks a few basic questions, and then we contact you so that together we can build your website. Yes, some websites allow you to do it all on your own, by my philosophy is ... why do it on your own when a professional can talk you through it at no additional cost? If you're gonna do something to promote your business, you might as well do it right.

From there, the idea for Family Domains took off. As I began working on the website, I got a lot of support from my wife and kids who threw in their ideas on where we could take it. Working with my kids then brought me to the second goal I wanted to accomplish with Family Domains ... I wanted to create a "family safe" web hosting experience. The human contact aspect was just the first stepping stone. Now, I wanted to make sure that our community of hosted websites was safe for the family and promoted each other. These two goals worked well together because by removing the automated system, we were also able to ensure that hackers and cyber bullies did not exploit our bandwidth with their websites.

This is still version 1 of Family Domains, but we've now got the website up and running. I do hope you throw us your support because I strongly believe in what we have created. If you have any feedback ... good or bad ... let me know. I'd like to know what's on your mind.

Thanks,
Alfie
